WELCOME TO THE FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF FOOD PROTECTION (FAFP)
As incoming President for the organization, I want to welcome everyone to the 81st year of FAFP! I am honored to lead the association as we move into a new and exciting time. There is an opportunity to grow and diversify the way FAFP serves its members and the food protection industry as a whole.
As we begin a new board cycle for 2025–2026, the focus will remain on enhancing the experience and opportunities for all members, as well as reaching new ones. The previous board
took on the great challenge of aligning the mission and actions of the association with what the membership is asking. Now there is a chance to build on that momentum, drive those changes, and continue elevating the member experience. Key priorities this year include membership, sponsorships, participation in events, and fostering networking and education to support the food safety community across Florida.
In 2026, the Annual Education Conference (AEC) will once again be a highly anticipated event, hosted at The Plantation at Crystal River, May 19–21. Attendees can expect engaging educational sessions, opportunities fornetworking and collaboration, and plenty of time to connect with colleagues. Additional engagement opportunities will include educational luncheons, town hall meetings, and other member-focused events. Your input is welcomed as programming continues to be shaped by member interests and needs.
I would also like to acknowledge our corporate sponsors. Their generous support enables FAFP to provide student scholarships, support awards at the State Science and Engineering Fair, present professional awards, and maintain affordable event costs for members.
Thank you for your dedication to building an even stronger and more engaged food safety community across Florida. This year is all about YOU, our membership, and I cannot wait to serve you and share this journey as we continue advancing food safety.
