Each year the Florida Association for Food Protection accepts nominations for each of the award categories listed below (with the exception of the President’s Award). Nominations can be made by any member, in good standing, of FAFP and submitted prior to the assigned deadline. Awards will be presented each year at the Annual Educational Conference.
Nominees for this award must exhibit the highest level of knowledge, skill, commitment and dedication to the ideals of food safety during their lifetime of service to Industry, Government or Academia. This lifetime achievement award should only be awarded to a person who has spent a majority of their lifetime in the food industry, inspection, research, or other related fields. The Board of Directors reserve the right of evaluating the qualifications of the person(s) being nominated and selecting the person best meeting these criteria.
This award is selected by the current President of the Florida Association for Food Protection and is selected based on the contributions made to the Florida Association for Food Protection, the State of Florida; its industries and/or educational institutions. The person selected must exhibit the highest level of commitment and dedication to accomplishing the goals of the Association and its members.
Nominees for this award should exhibit the highest level of proficiency in the field of Food Safety Sanitation inspection or Quality Assurance in the field of food service, food inspection, processing, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale and retail for all areas in industry, government and academia related to food safety.
The Laboratorian of the Year Award recognizes a FAFP Member for their contributions to the ideals of FAFP through their endeavors in the laboratory. It recognizes outstanding commitment in utilizing and developing innovative and practical laboratory techniques to support food safety.
The Special Recognition Award recognizes a FAFP Member for their outstanding contributions to FAFP.
